My green lane diary recount

My favourite activities were compost, tree planting and being a part of the G.O.T.Es. I liked the compost because it was fun going down to feed the worms. I also liked planting the trees because we learnt lots about how to get the trees out of the pots and I like being a part of the G.O.T.Es because I like making a difference.

In my research I learnt that plastic bags are the worst killers in the ocean. I also learnt how to plant trees and that everyone in the G.O.T.E.S can make a difference to the world.

I believe that we all can help the environment and that in the future we all would have made a very big difference.

My opinion of carbon tax

I agree and disagree with carbon tax. I agree with carbon tax because it helps the environment by not reducing the  production of carbon. I would be happy to pay the government if I polluted or hurt the environment.

I disagree with carbon tax because the price of goods and services will rise and families will need to pay money for food and other things that they need. Some people might not have enough money to pay for household needs

I didn't enjoy the amount of time that you had to take the photo.I found the following challenging having to download all of your photos and put them on your blog even though you haven't done it.I learnt all the different angles.

What have you learnt doing this timeline?

I have learnt lots about Australian History like, Captain James Cook arrives on the West Coast of Australia. I have also learnt how to use lots of different web sites like world book student, TROVE and scootle.

What would you change if you did this activity again?

I would change the dates, infomation and images because I would learn more about Australian History.


What I have liked about inquiry learning?
 I have loved  learning lots of things about Australia. I also have liked learning things like web sites to get Australian infomation and web sites that we all use.

 1616 Dirck Hartog lands on Dirck Hartog island on the west coast of Australia.

1619 Fredrik deHoutman charts the south- west coast of Western Australia.

1644 Abel Tasman charts the north coast from Cape York Peninsula to Western Australia.

1770 Captain James Cook sails into Botany Bay and claims Australia for Britain. Captain James Cook charts the east coast of Australia.

1788 Laperouse explores the east coast of Australia. The first fleet sales into port Jackson. Aboriginal Population is over 500000. Colonisation of Australia begins. The Fleet arrives at Botany Bay.

1789 A small pox outbreak devastates the Aboriginal communities of Botany Bay, Port Jackson, and Broken Bay.

1904 Watson First labour prime minister. Reid takes over in the same year. Sydney streets get electric lightning.

1905 Deakin returns as prime minister typhoid fever kills 650 Australians. World’s first- length movie- The story of Kelly gang- is made in Australia.

1908 Fisher is new labour prime minister.

1909 Deakin becomes prime minister for the third time.

1910 Fisher becomes prime minister again.

1911 Douglas Mawson leads expedition to Antarctica. The site for the national capital at Canberra is acquired.
